Hebrews 11:1

Hebrews 11:1instructs us that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (KJ) In Greek, the word translated as 'substance' literally means "underlying reality' or 'underlying truth upon which something is built".' Hope is built on an underlying truth that we know by faith. Therefore, without faith, true hope doesn't exist.
In Psalm 27:13, David tells us “I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.”

If we can’t believe that we will see the goodness of the Lord (by faith) we will despair. Therefore, despair is the result of having no hope - and hope is dependent on what? Faith.
The only thing that keeps us from despair, depression, negativity and fear is believing – having faith.
