Confronting Powerless Christianity

You may think these words were written by a minister, a prophet or an evangelist...
"Today, in many of our churches, it's all about making people feel good about themselves, all about the coming breakthrough (probably financial), all about fulfilling our personal dreams. But what about the biblical gospel? What about the fact that one day we'll have to give account to God for our lives? What about the judgment that will come on the whole world? What about the reality that "the wages of sin is death" (Rom. 6:23)? What about the fact that Jesus saves us from our sins so that we will live the rest of our lives for Him? I'm all for preaching hope and encouragement and love, but that is not the whole message. What happened to the rest of God's holy Word?"
...but they were not. They were written by secular rapper, Kendrick Lamar. If an unsaved, worldly musician can make this kind of observation about today's church, is it any wonder why we're not reaching millennials, why there is no power in the pulpits? The church, by and large, has stopped preaching truth and is tickling ears with a weak, watered down gospel that stimulates no one to the fear of God. We have traded the preaching of repentance of sin and God's judgment for fear of hurt feelings over the truth and therefore there are millions of walking dead who believe they have been saved by a feel good, watered down, Christ-less gospel of mamby-pamby Christianity. What have we done!
