Is There Any Wonder Why?

The Bible never instructs us to 'read' it. It instructs us to study it to show ourselves approved. There are plenty of folks who can quote scripture without having the slightest idea of what it is saying. Memorizing scripture is pointless unless, through study, the words come alive and God speaks to you! This is what 'hearing the (written) word of God' is all about and is the foundation of faith - according to scripture. A natural hunger for the word of God has become my measuring stick of true salvation because it is completely natural to absolutely crave the word of Him who has saved you.
That being said, a recent study by the Barna Group shows that 95% of confessing Christians never even read a line of scripture between Sundays. Is it any wonder why the majority of the body are powerless, ill-equipped infants in the word, prayer life and relationship with our loving Father? Is it any wonder why the majority of 'believers' lack faith and trust in God? Is it any wonder why the church by and large, doesn't see miracles? Is it any wonder why sin and repentance isn't being preached in pulpits? Is it any wonder why these things, which should be every day occurrences, have been replaced with a watered down, weak, feel-good false gospel? Is it any wonder why church leaders can see abomination to God being made the law of the land and remain silent? Is it any wonder why face-before-God vertical worship has been replaced by rock concerts as 'worship'? Is it any wonder why the weakened church isn't reaching the lost young people in our communities? Is it any wonder why we have reached an all-time low in morals in this country? Is it any wonder why there are millions of people that call themselves 'Christians' with zero evidence of fruit and no change from the old man to the new, who are like the wind, blown here and there with every false doctrine that comes down the pike?
The word says that the way is narrow and that he who endures to the end will be saved. Is there any wonder why?
