Preach Sin and Power? Or Love and Grace?

I recently took part in an online discussion between Pastors and Ministers on this very subject and some of the responses were shocking to say the least – so I thought I’d clear the air on the subject.

Revelation 2:4 says "But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. return to your first love" - This is the crux of the entire situation with the church today - we have turned away from the direct teachings of the Most High God and started teaching our own messed up word! – ‘our own stinkin thinkin’ as my better half Cathie likes to calls it. Rather than carry that practice forward, I’ll let the word of God clarify the situation:

From a prophetic word in May, 2012 (you can read the back story HERE )

“You started out strong, why did you turn? In the beginning you sought only my love, support and approval. Now you look to men who know not your heart but approve based on flesh. They marvel at your words that are not your own, but mine. The time has come. Repent and return to me for only I know your true heart. Prepare thyself for there comes a time soon when all the body will be tested - and in the current state of my church many will fail that test. There is time to rebuild but it will take a revival of great magnitude, for the time is very short.”

Compare this to the message in Revelation or to Malachi 2:8 "But as for you, you have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to stumble by the (your) instruction; you have corrupted the covenant of Levi" ~ (parenthesis are mine)

and Malachi 2:2 "If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to give honor to My name,” says the Lord of hosts, “then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have cursed them already, because you are not taking it to heart."

I recently heard a young man say during a church service that “If these aren't the end times, then I don't want to be around for them!” What a thought! The true body needs to wake up!

One mislead Pastor in the group said that "I have never met a believer who wanted to live a lifestyle of sin. We need grace because of our FLESH is weak."  I asked him “Do you actually read what you type? You just answered your own dilemma!”  Believers don't WANT to sin - but the flesh IS weak. We are tempted, we do fall (Lonnie Frisbee) and we are demonized (not possessed – but certainly demonized) just the same as our non-believing counterparts, only more so...all because we live mostly in the flesh!

Preaching sin is crucial, although the more we do for the Kingdom the more we are attacked - both in the natural and in the Spirit. It is only by living in the Spirit that we can resist our natural, carnal nature and enter into Spiritual warfare that is around us 24/7/365 - and if you don't know what I'm talking about, then you're not there! And it is both a walk in faith AND a walk in flesh - that is the really hard thing to do – balance between them. I much prefer the Spirit…but sometimes we must function in the natural.

Here’s another thought: If we can't handle everyday stuff right now, what is going to happen when the end times come, when we are truly persecuted, beaten and killed for our beliefs? What then? It is no wonder that not all will survive to see heaven? Matthew 10:22 tells us "You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved." Will you buckle? Will you deny Christ?  If you are not in the Spirit, I would venture a guess that you probably won't be able to withstand it.

Ephesians 6 tells us to "pray at all times in the Spirit” and that the Spirit is the cutting edge sword of the Word that will be your shield of faith when tested. The gifts of the Spirit are the weapons you will use to be victorious in battle and heaven is your reward for staying true to Christ.

Get back to basics - get back to the first love of Jesus Christ through grace – and walk in the fire of God's Pentecost - because without it we are surely doomed.

~May the blood of Jesus cover, bless and protect you!
