40 Days To Save America Fast & Prayer - Day 32
"What's In It for Me?"
“Posterity (to all future generations) you will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it." John Quincy Adams
"What’s in it for me?" Unfortunately, this is the question that has become the driving force of our culture. The “civilized world” is dying from excessive individualism. Everything revolves around “What about ME?” “What will I get out of this? What will this do for me?” This attitude and the life choices it promotes is completely anti-Christian. The foundational philosophy of Christianity is that a man lay down his life for his friends in light of the purpose and plan of God. From the moment we are born, to the moment we die, our life effects others. Romans 14:7 says, “None of us lives to himself alone, and none of us dies to himself alone.” This truth carries a responsibility. Cain asked God, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” God ultimately answered that question in the death of His Son for the salvation of others. The cross typifies right relationship between God and man, and between man and man. Both intersect in you! Every believer in Jesus is appointed as a force for good in the lives of others with whom he or she is related. Each one of us is a part of a whole that makes up the family God desires for Himself.
The question we must embrace in these elections is not, “What’s in it for me?,” but “What’s in it for my nation, my children, my children’s children?” What is the legacy that we will leave for posterity.
Prayer Day 32:
O Lord, we pray for awakening in America. Remember those who cut a covenant with You in this land in the beginning, and have mercy on America. Come breath of God! Fill the empty place in our government.Fill the empty place in our culture. Fill every empty heart with Your Truth and Liberty. Lord, drop a plumb line in these elections that will cause true patriots to arise and make good use of the freedom our forefather’s purchased for us. We pray for a shift back to our roots in Jesus’ mighty name! We bind back fear, fraud, and intimidation. Lord, overshadow America with Your grace. Give us leaders, Lord, for Your glory in America.
